Skelebunnie

I have to paint the bunnies by hand now. The former method of coloring in photocopied paper sheets and spray mounting them onto foam board no longer does it for me. Plus the paper wrinkles eventually. I do use a photocopied bunnie to transfer the exact image (it must match the original exactly) with transfer paper onto canvas or hot press illustration board, in pencil and then use either black gouache on illustration board or black acrylic paint on canvas and then go from there. Here is one I started on canvas last night. Progress pics to come.

First Colored Bunnie by me

The Bunnie started out as a Sharpie drawing I did while I was working at my old job at a dental lab in Shreveport, LA in 2004. I then made stickers by photocopying the drawing onto sticker paper. I gave some of these stickers to my friend Casey who loved them. He then took one of the stickers and blew it up to legal size on the copy machine at his work. He started to fill them with color just for fun. I really liked the idea of the bunnie being in color instead of just black and white so I started to color them in too. This was my first colored bunnie that I did at Casey's apartment. I used colored pencil and conte pencil and some more sharpie. Casey still owns this bunnie and to this day, it is one of my favorites.
